Sunday 19th July 2009 – Reasonably quiet day today as we cruised past Christmas Island. No formal exercise however we do get some if we use the stairs instead of the lifts. Christmas carols by the tree in the atrium and presents for the children. Paid a visit to the casino and won A22.00!! Last of the big spenders! Spent some time in the sun – must keep my tan up – and had a swim in the afternoon after a seafood BBQ on deck – Mason of course went mad on the prawns. Alice and Glen joined us, in our cabin, for pizza, red wine and music (I had put a number of CDs on my laptop) – was great. Afterwards we went to Ä Touch of Irish “with Peter Byrne – excellent and funny. The latest lot of entertainers leave us in Honolulu.
Monday July 20th 2009 - Started the day with a swim for an hour while Mason & Glen did a mile or two on the treadmill and Alice went to a stretch class. How lucky are we to not have to make a bed, cook a meal or do the dishes? The only decisions we make are “what would we like to do today”! Breakfast was a drawn out affair in the buffet, as it usually is, because you tend to sit with someone new each day. Today I attended my last camera course and have learnt quite a lot – hope to refresh with a course on photo editing over the next leg (San Francisco to New York). Mason went to a lecture on Maui while Glen & Alice Went to a lecture on how to create slide shows and movies from digital photos followed by one on Art History. It was then time for choir practice – Mason says we are sounding pretty good. Alice is in the alto section, Glen bass and I am in firsts. After lunch we all did a bit of resting and reading and then I went to Bingo – no luck though. Today the seas are quite rough, enough to close the pool this afternoon but we have our sea legs well and truly now and love the movement of the ship as we go off to sleep. It was formal night again tonight and everyone looked lovely – I think the men look particularly handsome (and sexy) in their suits. After dinner – Mason and I had beef tonight – done to perfection, Glen had lobster and Alice had Salmon – we rushed off to get a seat for the show – a special production by The Dawn Princess dancers and vocalists – it was titled “Moments to Remember “and included songs of the 20’s to the 40’s – they were very good. As we had left the dining room before dessert, we went upstairs to the buffet for Ice-cream after the show, then Glen and Alice went to bed while I had a hot tub and watched the movie “Pearl Harbour “on the big screen under the stars – Mason did too, but not from the hot tub! It’s another wonderful day tomorrow so I better get to bed so I can fill it with lots more exciting activities – bet you wish you were here!!!!
