04/02/13 - Yesterday was our 45th wedding Anniversary and we had a lovely day. Received chocolates from Glen and Alice and a bottle of bubbly from Scottish friends we have made on board, even splashed out and bought a bottle of wine at dinner as well as enjoying one in our cabin previously. We just love the Chilean red wine so hope to bring some home with us - I will have to hide it from Mason!! Ended the day listening to music in the Piano Bar. Another sea day before we arrive in Valpraiso.

02/02/13 - Today we are in Punta Montt and joined a group of 20 on a minibus for a 4 hour trip of the area. Chile is beautiful and very like NZ. We went up into the mountains and saw some spectacular scenery on the way. Visited some falls not unlike Huka Falls and the Mountain that really looked like Mt. Egmont. Saw some lovely clear lakes and stopped at a couple of places where lots of locals were enjoying the sun and water - it was Saturday. On our return we had a quick look at the local market which they say is the best one in South America and it definitely had better quality stock to sell. Did not have much time but bought a few things. As it happened the weather changed and we were an hour late boarding the tender as they had to turn the ship around to make it safe to board. The Chilean Airforce gave a a lovely aerobatic display as we waited. We were on the last tender out. We have one more South American Port to go before we head towards the Pacifuc Islands. Chile and Uruguay have been the best of South America, we were not that impressed with Brazil.
