Sunday 20th September – A fabulous day in Oman. Peter and Amanda Greenwood picked us up just after 8am and took us on a quick tour of the area then to their house for a chat and a drink then off to the Grand Mosque which we could only see from the outside but really impressive. The boys, Glen & Mason, went with Peter while Amanda took us to the Market for a look and some shopping then back home and time to get back to the ship as we had to be onboard at 1.30pm. They delivered us right to the ship and guess who was last on board.........again!! Glen says the Captain will be saying: The Sillifants are here, we can go now”!!! Yeah right!!! Was lovely to see Amanda and Peter – a really great day. We were surprised how lovely Oman is. Lunch when we got back then watched a silly play put on by passengers while Mason had a sleep. Dinner and an early night as we have a big day in Dubai tomorrow.

- Mason & I have been lucky enough to have travelled a fair bit starting when we went to Papua New Guinea in 1978 with our three girls, Paula,Karyn & Justine. During our time there we visited Hong Kong and Manila, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, and drove up the coast to San Franciso stopping at various places on the way. Since then we have visited Perth (a few times, Brisbane (often), Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney. We have also been to Vanuatu,Bangkok,Singapore and Samoa and have cruised to the Pacific Islands three times. In 2007 we did a Trafalgar tour of Europe stopping off in Hong Kong and Santa Monica. Mason has visited Florida 4 times on business between 2003 and 2006. We are looking forward to this RTW cruise on the Dawn Princess and hope to meet lots of new friends and to see things we have already seen and those we missed. We now have 8 grandchildren (6 boys and 2 girls) ranging in age from 6-14. I hope they will be interested in this blog and the adventures we will have.
