More Sea Days and Darwin

Tuesday 6th – Friday 9th October – Four relaxing days at sea – we were all in various stages of infection with hacking coughs and headaches – Glen had a day in bed and the rest of us took things very easy. Used some of the skills I had learnt at Photo Editing classes and made a thank you photo for some of the crew who have looked after us on this trip – you can see it on facebook “Cruise Album”. They were thrilled with it which was nice. Had choir practice – we have a concert coming up and I attended some extra computer classes but other than that just caught up on our washing and reading although Mason spent some time building the boat for the competition which will be held on 12th. Did go to a couple of shows after dinner.
Saturday 10th October – Marion and Ron picked us up on the wharf at 9am and gave a tour around Darwin then home to their place for the day. It was fantastic to catch up with them and their children and grandchildren. We all enjoyed the day so much and sorry when we had to go back to the ship at 5pm. Many of the passengers off loaded their many extra suitcases today – Greyhound had a depot at the terminal – so that they will not have to pay the excess baggage when they fly home from Sydney!
Sunday 11th October - Had booked in for a free makeover at 9am – not many people up and around the ship at that time – and enjoyed the half hour of pampering. The boys were busy in our cabin putting the last minute touches to the boat as the competition is tomorrow, so I made myself scarce and found a quiet spot to read then attended a couple of computer classes and choir practice. Mason not feeling so bright today so both had an early night.
Monday 12th October – Time is running out and only three more days of fun onboard!!! Had a really busy day today. We are now cruising through the reefs and it is interesting listening to the commentary by the ‘reef pilot ‘we have onboard. Up early and a computer class in the morning then a rehearsal for our concert this afternoon. After a rushed lunch it was time to change and report to the Princess theatre for the concert. Wow, how good were we!!!! The theatre was packed and we got a standing ovation. Hope to get the DVD so you can all see for yourselves!!! Missed the after function, as we had to change and rush up for the boat competition. Such fun and our boat stood all the tests they gave it – floating in calm and rough water and with a six pack on board and judging by the five experts AND we won and are coming home with a gold medal!!!! - photos on facebook “Cruise album” and will probably be on the same DVD as the concert. After that we had to celebrate so we all packed into our cabin for nibbles and drinks before going up to the dining room late. Went to a classical concert after that – great and to bed – what a day!!!!
