14/12/12. -  Here we are back in San Francisco at the Sheraton Hotel in Emeryville just a short  walk from the station where we have to catch the train at 9 am tomorrow .   It was a short run down yesterday  so we did not have to get away too early and we stopped at Santa Rosa for lunch. Mason has taken the rental car back this morning so hope he manages to negotiate the public transport system to find his way back ok.  We are looking forward to the train trip to Denver tomorrow but perhaps not the cold! Apparently it is snowing in Rapid City so we will have a white Christmas for sure. The weather here has been lovely and sunny and warm during the day but a little chilly into the evening and night although our accommodation has been cosy and warm and all the beds very comfortable.

Had news from P&O that we will not be visiting the ports in Argentina which is very annoying as we would rather miss The Falklands than Buenos Aries and Ushuaia. Seems Argentina Govt will not guarantee our safety if the ship goes to the Falklands.  We will be going to Salvadore and Monte Video overnight so we are looking to see if we can catch the ferry to BA and back.  

Might go and check out the shopping centre next door.
